Rava Laddu Recipe | Semolina Ladoo

Rava Laddu or sooji Ladoo is a south Indian sweet that taste so delicious, which you can prepare very easily at home with minimal ingredients.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • Rava /semolina/sooji – 1 cup
  • Sugar – 1cup
  • Ghee – ¼ cup
  • Cashew nuts – ¼ cup
  • Raisins -2tbsp
  • Cardamom powder – ½ tsp

Instructions

  • In a saucepan add the sugar and little water to cover the sugar and boil for 5-10 minutes until you get 1 string consistency. Turn off the flame and keep aside.
  • Heat another pan with ghee, add the nuts and roast them till they turn into golden colour. Remove the nuts into a bowl and keep aside.
  • In the same add Rava and roast on low flame till you get a nice aroma from it. It takes approximately 15-20 minutes.
  • Once the rava is roasted nicely add the nuts and mix well.
  • Now add the prepared sugar syrup to the Rava mixture and mix well.
  • Add the cardamom powder, mix well.
  • Allow the mixture to cool for 5 minutes.
  • Mix the mixture again and roll into laddus when it is warm only.
  • Store these Rava Ladoos in an airtight jar and enjoy with your loved ones!

Notes

Roast the Rava on low flame only till you get a nice aroma.
Roll the laddoos when the mixture is warm
